You're nearly there now just a few more weeks to go. I'm looking forward to tensegrity arch discussions. I've still not worked out the perfect connection detail!

Chin up!, it's not all that bad!?

Congratulations on finishing!
Although, I sorry you're not happy with it, although you must be a little bit proud of what you've done, surely, if only of the volume of work?

I must confess that I felt a huge anti-climax when I finished my last project. Considering how much work went it, I was hoping it might descend from heaven on a golden chariot and lead us all to the promised land, sadly it didn't and it was destined never to do so.

Chin up, look at what you have, rather than what you could have had. Aim for the moon, and if you miss, you still land among the stars... and all that.

Don't get too downhearted Rob! I too am delighted to be rid of the dreaded dissertation, mostly because of the immense strain during the final week. Basically, the experimentation took 2 weeks (!) longer than anticipated, so i have had to work 2 weeks (!) harder in the last week. I was thinking this afternoon, as i took my post-hand-in-two-day-overdue shower, having printing the whole thing out twice in colour at great expense, never to see it again: "is it worth it?". The answer for me is "Absolutely yes!" - but that wasn't because i felt the dissertation made any progressions in the world.

No matter where the dissertation went, it's purpose is to serve as a certification that you, the author, are capable of independant thinking. Some dissertations are mildly successful. Some even get published! The vast majority will never see the light of day, even after being given a top mark.

It's really sad that you aren't happy with the final product, because i know how enthusiastic you were about it once upon a time. Perhaps in a few weeks you will be able look back at it and see the relative successes, even if you do class the overall thesis lacks substance. Either way, congratulations on finally handing it in!

I too am glad it is all over. Rather strangely, it has been an emotional time for me as well.
But now, you are one giant step nearer to it all being over and the prospect of actually practising what you have been learning is getting closer every day! YIPPEE!
Well done and nice pics, by the way! xx
